The Strategic Trade Policy Practice in China

Abstract

This paper analyses the strategic trade policy practice in our country.Though never mentioned in any government document,strategic trade policy has been implemented as a part of the widely implemented industrial policy since China's reform and opening-up.But due to low degree of competition in local market caused by the failure of industrial organization policy,the effect of strategic trade policy in China are not so good compared with those in other countries.So coordi-nating industrial policy and competition policy and eliminating the local protectionism in the domes-tic market are the keys to the success of the strategic trade policy in the future.
