Abstract
Representation and construction of transportation network are the base of inter-city transportation planning. In order to improve the function of planning software and to enhance the visualization and maneuverability of network, this paper introduces the technologic features of GIS and the representation method of inter-city transportation network, discusses the network modeling construction system based on GIS, realizes the visualization of network editing and attribute data processing by integrating vectorgraph and database, then achieves the functions of inputting, modifying, counting and inquiring the network data. The system can update network information, offer accurate and complete data for the transportation operation and management, and prepare for network planning in advance.
