Abstract
The supported tungstophosphoric acid (PW/C) catalyst was prepared with high the catalytic activity. It was used as the catalyst for esterification of Trimethylolpropane with acrylic acid in liquid solid system. The most suitable conditions for this reaction were: acrylic acid 0.78 mol, trimethylolpropane 0.25 mol, catalyst, 0.7% of the total mass of reactants, temperature 120 °C and reaction time 60 min. The conversion of acrylic acid was 94.6%, the purity of the product was over 98%. The catalyst could be used repeatedly for many times without distinct loss in activity.
