Abstract
Objective To study C myc protein expression in human testicular tumor and its correlation with the biological behaviors and prognosis of testicular tumor. Methods 38 human testicular tumors and 10 normal testicular tissue specimens were studied with S P immunohistochemical detection and their clinical significance was analysed. Results There was no positive C myc protein expression in normal testicular tissues, while expression was demonstrated in 81.6% of testicular tumors tissues. Expression of C myc protein is significantly higher in tumor group than in normal tissue group( P 0 01).But it was not related to the tumor grade or tumor stage( P 0 05). There was no significant difference between seminoma and nonseminoma( P 0 05). Conclusion Abnormal C myc expression might play a promotive role in the tumorigenesis and tumor development of testicular tumors but is not related to the degree of differentiation of the tumor cells.
