Abstract
Objectives: To study the effect on immune function and recurrence of Pidotimod on patients with Condyloma acuminatum(CA).Methods: Eight-two patients with CA were randomly divided into the study group(n=42) and control group(n=40).All the cases were treated with Imiquimod cream after the warts had been eliminated by CO2 laser. The study group was given Pidotimod additionally. After 3 months, the curative effect and adverse reaction were observed.T-lymphocyte subpopulation was detested before and 3 months after the treatment. Results: After treatment, the increases of CD3+,CD4+ T-lymphocytes and the ratio of CD4+/CD8+ and the decrease of CD8+ T-lymphocytes were found in the study group(P0.05).The CD3+,CD4+,CD8+ T-lymphocytes and CD4+/ CD8+ ratio in the control group have changed after treatment, but the difference was not statistically significant(P0.05).Before treatment,no significant difference was observed between the Study Group and the control group(P0.05).The increases of CD3+,CD4+ cells and ratio of CD4+/CD8+ and the decrease of CD8+ cells were found in the study group while compared with the control group, the difference between the two group has statistically significance(P0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions of study group and control group was 42.85% and 42.50% respectively. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).No systemic adverse reactions were observed. Conclusions: Pidotimod can improve the immune function of patients with CA,regulate dysfunction of T-lymphocyte subpopulation.Pidotimod combined with imiquimod may reduce the rate of recurrence of CA.
