Abstract

With N,N-methylene bisacrylamide as crosslinking agent and potassium persulfate as initiator, the high-hydrophilia compound material starch-grafted acrylic acid/zeolite/fly ash was prepared by using aqueous solution polymerization method and the influence of proportion of zeolite to fly ash, addition amount of starch, doses of crosslinking agent and initiator, neutralization degree and reaction temperature on the water absorption rate of the compound material was researched. The results indicated that fly ash and zeolite could be dispersed better in the graft polymer and the water absorption multiple of the compound material to tap water was up to 314.4 g/g and that to tested normal saline was up to 55.7 g/g.
