Abstract
Objective: To explore the possible correlation of the length of stricture pharyngeal tissue with the morbidity and severity of Obstructive Sleep Apnea-Hypopnea Syndrome(OSAHS) and its collapsibility. Methods: Thirty patients with OSAHS who has been performed polysomnography(PSG) were selected, and their apnea hypopnea index(AHI) and the lowest SpO2 were recorded. All patients were scanned with CT to get the length of stricture retropharyngeal tissue(L).And they were all performed electrolaryngoscope and Muller test to determine the collapse degree of narrow pharyngeal cavity(D).Results: The length of stricture pharyngeal tissue was 27.42±5.74 mm,which was caused by the abnormal anatomical structure of pharynx.AHI,the lowest SpO2 and D were significantly correlated with L.The correlation coefficient for AHI and L,the lowest SpO2 and L were 0.624(P0.01) and-0.470(P0.01),respectively.Conclusion: AHI,the lowest SpO2 and D were associated with L.Spiral CT and Electrolaryngoscopy can effectively determine the abnormal structure and the narrow degree of pharyngeal cavity in the patients with OSAHS,which can provide the theoretical foundation and technique parameters for the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
