Abstract
Objective:To study the guidance value of evaluation twice in gas partial pressure of pleural cavity to further treatment for pneumothorax in patients with blocked drainage tube. Methods: Patients with intercostal tube and water seal bottle percutaneous drainage and with blocked drainage tube problem and atelectasis, were extracted gas from the pleural cavity twice. The gas partial pressure was evaluated twice and the blood gas analysis of radial artery was done at same time. In accordance with p(CO2), p(O2), [p(CO2)]/[p(O2)],[p(CO2)] and [p(CO2)] the different types of pneumothorax in patients with blocked drainage tube problem were treated appropriately. Results: In total of 49 patients, there were 30 patients with closed pneumothorax, 16 with traffic pneumothorax and 3 with tension pneumothorax. The overall coincidence rate was 97.96% (48/49) based on the results from two times of gas analysis combined with clinical classification of pneumothorax. Conclusion: Based on the evaluation result of gas partial pressure of pleural cavity, the type of pneumothorax can be accurately determined, and the effective exhaust measures were taken.
