Abstract
The extraction mechanism of uranium(VI) with N,N- dibutyloctylamide(DBOA) in kerosene has been studied. The influences of concentrations of aqueous nitric acid,salting-out agent LiNO_3 and extractant on the extraction distribution ratios are investigated. The structure of the extracted complex is analyzed by the aid of IR spectra. While there exists synergism for the extraction of uranium(VI) with TBP and DBOA at lower TBP concentration, the antagonistic effect occurs at higher TBP concentration. However, the IR spectra indicate that there is no interaction between these two extractants. The complicated effect caused by TBP may be due to the change in polarity of organic phase with the increase of TBP concentration. The stoichiometry of the complex formed with TBP and DBOA was determined by the slope method.
