Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the causes and clinical curative effects of early endophthalmitis after cataract surgery so as to improve the clinical treatment efficacy.METHODS The clinical data of the patients with early endophthalmitis after cataract surgery who enrolled the hospital from in Jan 2007 to Jan 2012 were retrospectively reviewed, the patients were divided into the treatmerit group(12 cases) and the control group(11 cases) according to the treatment methals. The infection status, causes of infections, and prevention measures were analyzed and summarized.RESULTS Of the 23 patients who treated in our hospital,7 cases were negative with bacteria and fungi training,16 cases were positive,10 Staphylococcus epidermidis strains were detected,3 Staphylococcus caprae strains were detected,2 Staphylococcus saprophyticus strains were isolated,Acinetobacter calcoaceticus strains were positive in 1 case. The endophthalmitis in the 23 cases has been controlled well,14 patients were cured,9 improved, the cure rate of the observation group(83.3%) was significantly higher than that of the control group(36.4%),the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).The vision restored effect of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).CONCLUSION It is of great significance in improving the clinical efficacy of cataract surgery and quality of life to take active and effective prevention measures during the perioperative period of cataract surgery,to diagnose and treat in the early stage,to quickly reduce the pathological lesions, and to improve the visual function to the greatest extent.
