Abstract
The fluid dynamic characteristics of the new 95?type tray are investigated in a 1.0 m diameter test rig using the air?water system at atmospheric pressure.Experimental data of flow pattern,pressure drop,weeping and liquid height in the downcomer are obtained and analyzed,and the equations for calculating the tray pressure drop and the liquid height are derived from the experimental results. It shows that the pressure drop of the 95-type tray is lower than that of tradifional sieve tray. and the 95-type tray have the lower weeping curves character. The liquid flow pattern on the tray is almost changed into idea model.
