Abstract
The field experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of rotten wheat straw on the yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco. The results showed that application of rotten wheat straw could significantly improve the yield of flue-cured tobacco and the proportion of superior tobacco, increase the output value and improve the physical properties, coordinate the chemical compositions, improve the petroleum ether extracts and neutral aroma components, and smoking quality. The best overall result was observed when the wheat straw was applied at the rate of 6000 kg/ha.
