STUDY ON THE ORIGIN OF THE LOESS IN KERYIN AREA,WEST SICHUAN PLATEAU

Abstract

Loess is broadly distributed on the 3rd to 6th terraces in Keryin area,West Sichuan plateau.The origin of the loess is analyzed with methods of thermoluminescence dating,loess grading analysis,SEM quartz surface observation and comparison of regional data.The result shows that the Keryin loess is of aeolian sediment and may be classified into periglacial loess.
