TALKING ABOUT "DAO" AND "JI"OF "ZHUANGZI

Abstract

of Zhuangzi laid emphasis on pursuing the ideal state of human life. However, Dao was difficult to speak, so Zhuangzi discussed Dao by menns of Ji,and used popular tales to enlighten people. Zhuangzi was in no mood for art, but these tales had profound influence on literary and artistic creation and theory. The first aspect was pursuing aesthetic breadth of mind, called as Xujing in artistic creation and appreciation. The second aspect was emphasizing the integrality of Heaven and Man in the method and skill of creation.
