Abstract
Objective: To analyze the reasons of hematuria after renal biopsy under type B ultrasound guidance and seek the measures of prevention. Method: The history records of the patients who underwent renal biopsy under type B ultrasound guidance from January 2000 to December 2003 were analyzed retrospectively and patients who had gross hematuria were summarized. Result: Totally 415 patients were undertaken renal biopsy. Gross hematuria occured in 38 patients. The incidence was 9.1%. Hematuria in 36 cases disapeared gradually in 1~2 days by keeping the bad strictly and hemostatic therapy. Severe bleeding occurred in 2 cases because of violent exercise after operation and needed renal artery bolting and blood transfusion therapy. Conclusion: Gross hematuria was the main complication of renal biopsy. Careful beforehand preparation, experienced operation and correct nursing could decrease the incidence of bleeding. Timely renal artery bolting operation should be carried out for the cases with severe bleeding.
