Abstract
Aim:To explor effects of rehabilitation management and functional rehabilitation on walking ability and balance function for Parkinson's disease.Methods:The HR-QOL of forty-four non-demented patients suffering from PD in their early to moderate stage were compared by using a single-blind,controlled clinical trial.Among them there were an intervention group(n=20) and control group(n=19).The intervention group was given a combination of health education with functional rehabilitation for eight weeks.Both the two groups were treated with the same medication and the health education-management,meanwhile the patients in the treatment group received Kinesio-therapy for eight weeks.The two groups were assessed with Berg Balance Scale(BBS) Berg's balance scores for the patient's lower limb's motor-coordination function,and time of 45m turn around indoor walk for the patient's walking ability.The effectiveness was compared between the two groups.Results:A total of 40 patients were enrolled in the study.After eight weeks,BBS of the intervention group improved significantly(P0.05),the grading of intervention group enhanced 5.70±4.54,and the control group enhanced 2.11±2.49.The time 45 m turn around indoor walk of the intervention group enhanced 4.81±2.88,but the control group stands still,The effectiveness between the two groups was evident(P0.05).Conclusion:The present program that integrated rehabilitation management with physiotherapy appeared to be a practical intervention for improving patients with PD walking ability and balance function.
