Analysis of the Outpatient Prescriptions of the Second Category of Psychotropic Drugs in Our Hospital

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the utilization status of the second category of psychotropic drugs in the outpatient department of our hospital so as to provide references for their standard utilization.METHODS: All the outpatient prescriptions of the second category of psychotropic drugs between 2005 and 2008 in the our hospital and their annual distribution were retrieved by a statistical method using computer,with the number of prescriptions and consumption amount of the second category of psychotropic drugs before and after the implementation of the Guiding Principles of Clinical Application of Psychotropic Drugs and the Prescription Management Method compared through tabulation analysis of the annual consumption amount,total number of prescriptions and the number of the prescriptions in which the dose is enough for more than 7 days.RESULTS: The use of the psychotropic drugs in our hospital was basically reasonable.CONCLUTION: The utilization of the second category of psychotropic drugs in our hospital tends to be more standard after the implementation of the Guiding Principles of Clinical application of Psychotropic Drugs and Prescription Management Method.
