Abstract
Using oleinic acid and n-butyl alcohol as the reactants and compound inorganic salts Fe2(SO4)3·(NH4)2S2O8 as the catalyst, the synthesis of butyl oleate was studied. The influence of reaction conditions on esterification was investigated by orthogonal experimental design. The results showed that the esterification rate of over 96% was attained under the optimum reaction condition as follows:oleic acid dosage 0.05 mol,n-butanol amount 0.08 mol, catalyst dosage 0.3 g,water carrying agent n-butanol amount 15 mL,reaction temperature(120-140) ℃,and reaction time 1.0 h.
