Explanation of "Fu Hua and Jiao Hui" in the periods of Han and Wei

The original meaning of Fu Hua stemmed from ancient China's economical thought of putting emphasis on agriculture but restraint on industry and trade.Later,its meaning expanded to every field of social cognition,developing into one kind of social and political language.As for the phrase of Jiao Hui,it originated from the scholars'pursuing official position by visiting influential officials in the early Qin Dynasty.But with Confucianism emerging in the Western Han Dynasty,scholars traveled around to become pupils to those outstanding masters for learning more on Confucianism,afterwards it developed into the meaning of forming cliques with the influential officials or attaching themselves to bigwigs and associating with those influential officials to pursue fame.Both of these practices were extremely detested by the absolute imperial power for their deviation from the traditional requirement of Confucianism and politics of the Confucian ethical code,which became the sign of changing of scholars' study style and thinking evolution in the Han and Wei Dynasties finally.
