Abstract

Investigation was made on non metallic inclusions of LCAK steel using tracer adding method It is found that it is difficult to completely remove the non metallic inclusions smaller than 30 μm generated by the reaction between ladle slag and liquid steel during BOF tapping and CAS refining The inclusions existing in the CC slabs mainly are globular inclusions block shaped Al 2O 3 and the Al 2O 3 clusters formed by the reaction between ladle slag and liquid steel The total oxygen content of the slab is between (14~17)×10 -6 and the amount of the inclusions in the slab is around 2 3 mg/10 kg steel, which indicates that LCAK steel can be produced through this production route
