Abstract
The experimental platform for the detection of the heavy metallic elements in soil sample using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy was built. The principle of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy used to determine heavy metals was investigated. The LIBS emission lines for the determination of Pb and Mn elements in soil samples are 405. 78 nm and 257. 61 nm,respectively. The calibration curve was established according to the experimental data. The experimental results show that the technique of lase-induced breakdown spectroscopy can be used easily to identify Pb and Mn elements in soil samples. The probability of the laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy for the detection of Pb and Mn elements in soil samples was verified preliminarily.
