Abstract

Objective To study the effect of NO,T-AOC on the germ cell apoptosis in the cryptorchid. Methods Immature rats (22 day-old Sprague Dawley) were subjected to unilaterally cryptorchid.Germ cell apoptosis was detected by terminal-deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated d-UTP nick end labeling (TUNEL).Biochemical parameters (NO,MDA,T-AOC) were evaluated by spectrophotometric method. Results At the 7th day after the operation,as compared to the control, the number of apoptotic germ cells in the cryptorchid was increased significantly, but its testes weight was decreased predominantly. At the 7th day after the operation, the contents of NO,MDA in the cryptorchid was significantly higher than in the control, and the level of T-AOC was predominantly lower. Conclusion The levels of NO,MDA,T-AOC might be involved in the germ cell apoptosis in the cryptorchid.
