Abstract
Microcellular foams of polypropylene/high-density polyethylene(PP/HDPE) blend and its nanocomposites were prepared using high-pressure vessel. The cell structure of foams were characterized using scanning electron microscope. The effects of nano-particle types and content on cellular structure were investigated. Results show that the cellular structure can be improved through adding 25% HDPE(into) pure PP.Adding nano-particles into the blend results in the(decrease) of cell diameter, the increase of cell density, and the improvement of cell distribution. The diameter of cell firstly decreases and then (increases) with the increasing of nano-particle content.
