Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the early treatment of Angle Class Ⅱ, Division 1 malocclusion in the mixed dentition. Methods:23 patients with Angle Class Ⅱ, Division 1 malocclusion in the mixed dentition were selected and treated with edgewise appliance without extraction of any tooth. Results: Against 16 variables of the lateral cephalograms the arithmatic mean and the standard deviation were calculated. Student t tests were used to assess the differences between before and after treatment. The differences of three variables(ANB,1 1,1 MP) were statistically significant(p0.01). Conclusion: Angle Class Ⅱ, Division 1 malocclusion should be treated during the mixed dentition so as to prevent the development of malocclusion and avoid extraction of permanent teeth in the permanent dentition.
