A Philological Study of Zang Nenglin in the Early Qing Dynasty

Zhang Nenglin,born in late Ming Dynasty,became a jinshi s(uccessful candidate in the highest imperial examinationi)n the early Qing Dynastya,nd filled successively the post of county magistrate in Renhe of Zhejiang,minister of education in Jiangsu and surveillance commissioner in Sichun.During his tenure of office, he tried his best in cultivation, prohibiting heresy, publicizing filial piety, which brought him a good reputation.He wrote several books such as Ruzongliyao,Shijingchuanshuoqucai, Xiaojingyanyibushan,Qinqizhenglve.In his life time he assumed the office of local government administrator, and had no remarkable scholarship, but he better applied Confucianism to political practice, which proved he was a benevolent official.
