Abstract

【Objective】To investigate the methods of treating stone of the kidney without atrophy with microinvasive techniques,to improve the operative security, reduce the complications.【Methods】Twenty nine patients with renal calculi and upper ureteral calculi underwent mini-invasive percutaneous nephrostomy and pneumatic lithotripsy through ureteroscope. The mean diameter of the calculi was 1.5(0.8~3.0)cm.Re-examination with B-ultrasound after operation showed no fragmented calculi 3mm, suggesting success.Operative time and effect were analysed.【Results】The procedure was successful in 24 patients with mean operative time of 75(35~180) min,2 cases were altered to open operation. There were 3 cases undergone the second-stage procedures. No other complication was found. The mean hospital stay was 9d after operation.【Conclusion】Mini-invasive percutaneous nephrostomy and pneumatic lithotripsy through ureteroscope for treating renal calculi and upper ureteral calculi are safe and effective. This method of treating stones of the kidney without atrophy can be recommended.
