Abstract
Box inlet passage has a wide application in the large scale low-lift pumping station in China. Here, the research on three-dimensional flow field in a box inlet passage is made by using numerical simulation based on Reynolds time-averaged equation and Standard k-e turbulent model, the velocity and pressure distribution of different sections are analyzed, the flow law of box inlet passage is revealed, and the hydraulic losses of the inlet passage within different operating conditions are predicted. The analysis results can provide more evidences for the design and improving of the large scale low-lift pumping station.
