Abstract

Objective: This study is to evaluate the correlation between coronary artery disease (CAD) and renal artery stenosis (RAS) and to identify the risk factors of RAS. Methods :Sixty-two patients with CAD or suspected CAD were carried out renal artery angiography after coronary angiography. Simultaneous risk factors of atherosclerotic disease, blood creatine level were surveyed. Results: Renal artery narrowing was identified in 17 of the 62 (27. 4%) patients and 16 of the 46 (34. 8%) patients with CAD determined by angiography. while 1 of the 16 (6. 3%) patients whose coronary artery was normal according coronary angiography. Patients in RAS group were older and had higher occurrence of renal dysfunction, hypertension, and CAD (especially multi-vessel disease) (P0. 05). Conclusion: There is correlation between CAD and renal artery stenosis . Age. hypertension and renal dysfunction are risk factor of renal stenosis.
