Abstract

Objective To determine the resistance of Anopheles sinensis to deltamethrin in the malaria-endemic northern part of Anhui Province. Methods An.sinensis adults were collected in pig-and cow-baited traps in July and August 2011.Standards assays recommended by the WHO were used to test F0 generation females.Mortality was recorded 24 hours after exposure. Results An.sinensis from Guoyang,Mencheng,Taihe, and Lixin counties was knocked down with 0.05% deltamethrin at a rate of 2.73%,4.9%,4.72%,and 6.42%,respectively.And with mortality were 6.54%,7.78%,9.27%,11.18%,respectively. Conclusion An.sinensis a main vector of malaria in the malaria-endemic northern part of Anhui Province, had marked resistance to deltamethrin.
