Abstract
The catalyzed internal electrolysis/hydrolysis acidification/bio-contact oxidation/coagulation process was used for the treatment of pharmaceutical wastewater. The COD removal rate was 61% while the B/C improved from 0.1 to above 0.3 after the catalyzed internal electrolysis. The system had high resistance to influent loads, and the removal rates of COD,NH3-N and TP were 89%,95% and nearly 100%,respectively.The effluent quality met the first class criteria specified in the Integrated Wastewater Discharge Standard(GB 8978-1996).The operation cost of the combined process was only 1.61 yuan/m3.
