Study on cultivation of the innovative ability of medical students by experimental teaching of medical microbiology

Innovative education is the core of teaching and learning activities.Quality education of medical colleges and universities focuses on it too.Experimental teaching has a unique advantage on cultivation of the sense of innovation among medical students.Medical microbiology is a strong practical foundation class,and its teaching should be closely combined with clinical practice.In the experimental teaching of medical microbiology,four step scientific teaching mode was adopted,including the basic validation experiments,the general design experiments,the innovative exploratory experiments and the open scientific research experiments.Then the effects of the teaching method on cultivation of the innovative capability of the medical students were assessed.Evaluation of teaching results showed that four-step scientific teaching mode effectively stimulated the students'interest in learning.The habit of independent thinking and the practical ability could be cultivated by this teaching method.It plays a significant role in cultivation of creative thinking,innovative spirit and ability to innovate among students.
