Abstract
Objective The expression of β-catenin in human endometrium tissue and its relationship with unidentified reason infertility were investigated. Methods The level of expression of β-catenin in 35 normal endometrium and 41 unidentified reason infertility was measured by immuno-histochemical method(SP technique). Results The expression of β-catenin in glandular epithelium and stromal cells was inspected in every phase of normal endometrium, the weak expression was presented during proliferative phase, and the highest expression in mid-secretory phase. In glandular epithelium and stromal cells, the weak expression was presented during proliferative phase in infertility, and the expression in secretory phase was significantly higher ( P 0.05). Between the expression of mid-secretory and early or late secretory phase, the difference wasn't significantly ( P 0.05); the expression of every phase was lower than that in normal endometrium. Conclusion β-catenin in glandular epithelium and stromal cells express regularly;perhaps infertility was due to its abnormal expression.
