On Feng Jiqi's Novels

His independent writing style,his alienation from t he mainstream,the difference in his understanding of the west from others-all t his makes his writing value hard to be recognized by the world of letters,the m ainstream critics and the reading public.Many writers of Feng's kind exist in l arge numbers.Their way of living,way of writing and writing experience are uni que,so their works are on rare occasions within the views of the mainstream cri tics.This paper,by taking Feng Jiqi as an example,attempts to include the loca lity in sight so as to show how the writers of this kind are closely related to others in understanding the common living experiences and memories,and to refle ct on the problems that exist in the modern world of letters and critics.
