Abstract
Besides the general character of unsaturated soil, the prominent characteristic of expansive soil is that its shear strength has the obvious varying property with the changing of seasonal climate.Simulating the seasonal alternate dry-wet effect, the shear strength of saturated compacting sample of Ningming expansive soil has been conducted with direct shear test instrument and the test result has been analyzed in comparison with other similar direct shear test result of area's expansive soil and the influence of dry-wet effect for saturated expansive soil strength and the feasibility of test method have been discussed.
