Abstract

This paper studies various meanings of the expression of architectural symbols,introduces the symbol meaning of two architectures with different types as duck and decorative shelter proposed by Venturi,discusses the limitation of symbol meaning,points out that man should rationally treat the status of symbol in architectures,and advocates innovation in the application of symbols,in order to enrich architectural styles.
