A Dynamic Comparison on Industrial Structure of Beijing,Tianjin,Shanghai,and Chongqing

There is a gap in the economic development among four municipalities-Beijing,Tianjin,Shanghai and Chongqing.One important reason is the strengths and weaknesses of their industrial structure.By means of industrial structure entropy,it has been analyzed in the paper that the dynamics differences in industrial structure in the four cities.Then,four-component share-shift model is used to evaluate the impact of industrial structure,competition power and distribution factors on economic growth of the four municipalities.The conclusion is that: Beijing's industrial structure is at the highest level;Shanghai's tertiary industry has not yet come into full play;Tianjin and Chongqing have great advantages in the second industry.However,the evolution of Tianjin's industrial structure is lack of the vitality,and the features of industrial development are inconspicuous and services industry lags behind in Chongqing.In the end,Beijing should pay attention to the development of High-end Industries;Shanghai should strengthen innovation to improve the competitiveness of the modern service industry;Tianjin should strengthen the development of modern industry and modern service industry;and Chongqing needs to develop locally-featured industries actively and promote the deep integration between manufacturing and service industries.
