Abstract
14 maize cultivars in China were used for studying on the relationship between drought resistance and physiological index. The results showed that the drought tolerance index significant positively correlated with leaf relative water content, leaf soluble sugar content and leaf soluble proline content, significant negatively correlated with leaf soluble protein content and leaf relative conductance rate. The correlation between drought tolerance index and leaf MDA content was negative significantly. Those physiological indexes were good parameter for measuring the drought resistance of maize and could be used in the evaluation of maize variety.
