Abstract
Wood is a solid material and is easy to obtain and suitable for machining and modeling, it is one of the main material of furniture design. But wood's lumber cycle is long, in the face of the increasing market demands; the shortage of wood is more and more serious. Bamboo has a rich cultural heritage, fresh and natural appearance. What's more, bamboo grows fast and has a yield abundant. The combination of bamboo and wood can effectively combine the advantages of bamboo and wood; while effectively alleviate the current timber shortage problem. In this paper, based on application of outdoor furniture, we analyze the combined application of wood and bamboo. The advantages and rationality of the combination of bamboo and wood are discussed from the material physical properties, the relationship between market supply, manufacture and cultural implication.
