Objective To evaluate the effect of a 3-week pulmonary rehabilitation program on the quality of life (QOL) in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods Twenty-two patients with COPD were subjected to the pulmonary rehabilitation program. Before and after the program,data of these patients’ QOL,pulmonary function and exercise capability were analyzed and compared.Results After 3-week program, patients’ QOL and exercise capability were improved significantly. However, the pulmonary function was not significantly changed.Conclusion This pulmonary rehabilitation program is effective in promoting the QOL and exercise capability in patients with COPD.Psychological factor may influence these patients' QOL.
