Reinfusion of Blood Salvage after Total Knee Arthroplasty of Rhmnatoriod Arthritis.

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the result of postoperative autologous blood transfusion in total knee ar-throplasty of rhumatoriod arthritis (RA). Methods From November 2000 to December 2003, postoperative blood salvage was reinfusioned in 346 patients by the Suretrans autologous blood recovery system. The volumes of the drainage . reinfusion, and complications were recorded. Result Among 346 patients, a total of 312995ml was transfused postoperative. No complication appeared. Conclusion Reinf usion of blood salvage after total knee ar-throplasty of RA is safe and effective. It is able to reduce the amount of homologous blood reinfusion.
