Abstract
Aim To observe the change of the renal function in patients with esential hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy. Methods Radionuclide ambulatory renography and color Doppler renal hemodynamics were studied in 30 patients with esential hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy and 21 healthy control group. The glomerular filtration rate(GFR),renal index(RI) and the distribution of intrarenal artery were investigated. The resistive index(ri), the systolic peak velocity(VS),andthe low diastolic flow velocity(VD) and acceleration time(AT) of the intrarenal arterial flow(AT) were measured. Results Compared with control group the density of intrarenal artery of patients with essential hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy were significantly decreased. In some patients, it even could not be displayed..The resistive index(ri) values of the segmental artery and the interlobar artery were significantly higher than those of the control group( P 0.001). AT were significantly increase( P 0.001);GFR were significantly lower( P 0.001); VS,VD and renal Index(RI) were significantly lower( P 0.01). Conclusion Change of the renal function was found in patients with essential hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy even when the serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen were normal. For preventing the progress of hypertension and guiding the treatment,it is very useful to measure and found the change of renal function in early phase.
