Abstract
The achievements and problems of steelmaking and continuous casting production are summarized in the background of historical breakout of crude steel output more than 100 million ton in 1996. The targets and stresses of steelmaking and continuous casting in 1997 are indicated based on basic ways of thinking and working of accelerating implementation of two fundamental changes in steelmaking and continuous casting in four years to come.
