Abstract
Objective:To study the expression of c-Jun NH2-terminal kinase(JNK)protein in rat brain after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury. Methods:The rat model of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury was established. The tissues of dentate gyrus of rats were sampled. The apoptosis of pyramidal neurons were detected by TUNEL method, and the expression of JNK protein was determined by Western blotting. Results:The apoptosis rates of pyramidal neurons in ischemia/reperfusion groups were significantly higher than those in sham operation group(P0.05).There was significant difference in the expression of JNK protein between each of the ischemia/reperfusion groups and sham operation group(P0.05).Conclusion:The JNK pathway is overactivated during the cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury, which results in the apoptosis of pyramidal neurons.
