Abstract

Objective To compare the therapeutic effects and toxicity of two different chemotherapy protocols for NSCLC—①Taxol plus Cisplatin(DDP Tax),②Novelbine plus Cisplatin(DDP—NVB).Methods DDP Tax group:Taxol 135 mg/m 2 i.v.infusion within 3 hours in the first day.Measure was take to prevent allergic reactions before the treatment.DDP was given at a dose of 75 mg/m 2 in the second and the third day,DDP NVB group:NVB 25 mg/m 2 i.v.infusion in the first and the eighth day,DDP was used in the same way. Results 20 cases were treated with DDP Tax.The total rate of CR plus PR and the rate in DDP failed cases was 40.0%(8/20),22.2%(2/9) respectively. The DDP NVB group had 26 patients, the total rate of CR plus PR was 38.5%(10/26),while the rate in DDP failed cases was 25.0%(2/8).The difference between the two groups was no statistically significant( P 0.05).The major toxic reaction in two groups was myelo suppression. Conclusion The two protocols(DDP plus Tax or plus NVB) are effective for advanced NSCLC with tolerable side effects, they are also effective for those patients who hadn't ever responsed to the routine chemotherapy mainly containing DDP.
