Abstract
Objective To observe the therapeutical effect of FZS on aged rats.Methods The cognitive ability of the senile rats was detected by Morris water maze test.The activities of choline acetyltransferase(ChAT)in the hippocampuses were examined by colorimetric method,and the ChAT expression was detected by Western-blot.The acetylcholine(ACh)content was examined by alkaline hydroxylamine colorimetric method.Results The Chinese herbal medicine FZS effectively improved the learning and memory abilities of the aged rats in dose-effect relationship,and ameliorated the activity of ChAT and level of ACh and ChAT in hippocampus.Conclusions FZS compounds regulated and ameliorated the cholinergic functions of the aged rats,thereby achieved its therapeutic effect.
