Abstract
The this paper studies the methods of analyzing cable configuration and tension for platforms in deep sea.Considering hypsography on seabed, cable extension and current force, and using the lumped massed method, the equations of cable are formulated, and cable configuration and tension are obtained by using Newton method to solve the equations. The mooring system in 1018m depth is analyzed. The study shows that hypsography on seabed is an important factor influencing the mooring system in deep sea and should not be neglected.
