Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effect of synthetic measures on controlling occupational lead hazard in condenser industries, and to explore an effective way to protect the workers from lead hazard. Methods Implemented were synthetic controlling measures, including occupational health education, hygiene protecting engineering and occupational health management. Lead dust concentration was tested and the workers exposed to lead dust were examined. Results There was serious occupational lead hazard in condenser industry. After controlling measures were implemented, the lead concentration in three working procedure points decreased significantly and qualified rates increased in the workplaces of spraying tin, tearing packing paper and charging, from 2.9%, 3.6% and 5.6% up to 45.5%, 40.9% and 52.4% respectively(P0.05), the rate of occupational lead poisoning was decreased from 8.7% down to 0.3% (P0.05).Conclusion These synthetic controlling measures are effective to protect the workers in this industry.
