Abstract
The isotherm adsorption process of phosphorus on active alumina was studied. The effect of initial phosphorus concentration, adsorption time and pH on the phosphorus adsorption by active alumnia was investigated. In order to find the optimum dosage and pH by static experiment. The results showed that the higher the initial phosphorus concentration and the adsorbing time, the greater the adsorption capacity of active alumina to phosphorus.Langmuir equation could well describe the isotherm adsorption capacity of active alumina to phosphorus.the adsorption kinetic process of active alumina to phosphorus in aqueous solution conformed the quasi second order kinetic model(R2=0.9999).The equilibrium adsorption amount of phosphorus and the kinetic parameters could be estimated on active alumina.
