Abstract
Integrated core analysis, outcrop observation with well-log data, this paper considers that the Silurian Kepingtage Formation in Tarim Basin develops clastic costal sedimentary facies, offshore and slightly deep-water basin sedimentary facies, clastic tidal sedimentary facies with no barriers, deltaic sedimentary facies and braided river delta sedimentary facies. As an isolated island, Tabei uplift was surrounded by seawater and transgressed from NE and NW directions, in which the NE was the main direction for early-stage transgression whereas the NW was for late-stage transgression. There are dominantly five source areas in Silurian and every area is longitudinally characterized by succession. A pattern with shallow in two sides and deep in center appears in the Silurian aquifer of Tarim Basin.
