Abstract

Wide Sargasso Sea is the masterwork of Jean Rhys.The use of symbolism is one of the most outstanding styles in description.This story uses symbolism to describe everything from a moth darting into a flame to a human being doing the same,from the wide sargasso sea to the hardship sea,and from the home lost to the self lost ,etc.It is thickly full of hopelessness in the symbolism.And symbolism also adds the finishing touch both in portraying the model and indicating the theme.
